MCFSP at KNUST Summer Camp, 2019

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at KNUST runs an annual vacation program (Summer Camp) for all Scholars during the summer holiday. The maiden edition of the Camp was in 2014 with the objective of equipping Scholars with soft skills that will enable them stand out in the cooperate world whilst giving Scholars the opportunity to rejuvenate after a stressful academic year. Additionally, the Camp was established to provide Scholars the opportunity to unearth and stimulate their entrepreneurial potentials to benefit their communities.
The theme for this year`s Summer Camp is; “Empowering Scholars Through Skills Training for Community Development” and will span over a period of six days.
The 2019 Summer Camp activities will include;
- Skills Training Sessions (Satellite Installations, Swimming, Bead Making, Adobe Photoshop, Macramé, etc.)
- Seminars (First Aid Administration, Personality Counselling, Individual/Community Based Projects (ICBP), Ethics and Social Responsibility, Introduction to Final Year Project, etc.)
- Creative arts
- Cultural Integration
- A movie Night and
- A fun trip to some centers of cultural and national heritage
The seminars are based on thematic elements of leadership, self-development, entrepreneurship, and transitions. These skills training sessions have yielded and continue to yield positive results and Scholars cannot wait to commence this year’s Summer Camp.
Date: Monday, 27th May, to Saturday, 1st June, 2019.
Time: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each day
Venues: KNUST Pool Side, College of Science and Paa Joe Sports Stadium
