I am Yakubu Abdul-Baaki, born on 24th October in Savelugu. I am a son to Yakubu and Fati all of Savelugu in the Northern part of Ghana. I started my basic school at Ulumu-diniyat E/A primary. Upon completion, I continued to Pong-Tamale Experimental Junior High School. I then enrolled in Tamale Islamic Senior High School and offered General Science. I have seen young boys and girls dropout of school in my community and become head porters “Kayayoos” in the south of Ghana to work for money. It is my aim to campaign against this and also sensitise them on the need for education.

However, the situation of education in general is very poor in my community and this is as a result of poor teaching and learning facilities and lack of interest from the people. It is my desire to raise funds from some community members and Non-governmental Organizations to help provide good teaching and learning facilities.

To raise people’s interest in education, I dream of introducing annual quiz competitions among schools and award the winning schools.

It is my dream to achieve high standard of education to gain knowledge on the things I am aming for.
