Yiryuo, who hails from Gaaper, Upper West Region, started his basic school education at the St. Gabriels JHS in Tumu where he was born. Values from the heartland coupled with a middle-class upbringing in a strong family got him ready to walk the “Narrow Path”. He then continued to St. Francis Xavier Minor Seminary School where he read General Science after successfully excelling in the one-year preparatory class.
His admirable demeanor and humility were nurtured whilst in the Seminary. He was admitted into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2011 and completed in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science, Second Class Upper Division in Biological Sciences.
He undertook his National Service at the Dean of Students Office as a Teaching and Research Assistant affiliated to the Department of Theoretical and Applied Biology with responsibilities for practical work, tutorial classes and research activities of the Faculty Members.
In addition, he was charged with extra responsibilities from the Dean of Students. His work output is phenomenal and transcends across all boundaries of the Office of the Dean of Students as such got him the accolade “Utility Player”.
He was awarded a one-year Post National Service Contract. His ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision and readily availing himself whilst at the Office of the Dean of Students is much desired.
He joined the Mastercard fraternity in 2017 as a Program Assistant in charge of recruitment. He believes that abject poverty should not be the stumbling block in a bid to access higher education.
