As the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer on the program, Oppong is responsible and ultimately accountable for developing and implementing the program’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system. He also ensure that all monitoring and evaluation activities are conducted in line with Mastercard Foundation’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) standards. Through innovative tools and techniques, he continually evaluate program implementation to explore opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and overall learning and development of the program at KNUST.
Prior to joining the Scholars’ Program at KNUST in March 2020, Mr. Kyekyeku Appiah worked with the UKAID Ghana Oil and Gas for Inclusive Growth (GOGIG) Programme as a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer. At GOGIG, He provided technical support to the design and implementation of program Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning system in line with UKAID requirement. His core duties also included ensuring proper output and outcome indicator data collection, quality control, analysis, and management, and preparing quality and timely project performance technical reports as required by donors. He represented the programme at relevant validation and lessons dissemination meetings with partners including Ministry of Finance, Ghana National Petroleum Commission (GNPC), Bank of Ghana and Civil Society Organizations, and made constructive inputs to improve quality of reports and facilitate sharing of technical subject-matter knowledge.
He has in the past worked with Vikadjin Ghana Limited and the University of Nottingham as a Research Assistant.
Mr. Kyekyeku Appiah holds an MSc in International Development Management from the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and a BA Geography and Rural Development from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
He uses his free time to mentor young and promising students and M&E professionals to achieve their God-given potentials.
